Expert Exchange Advice

Built on Understanding, Not Just Execution.

We recognized a gap in the 1031 exchange industry: too often, exchanges are treated as a transaction rather than a strategy. At NextPhase 1031, we’ve invested countless hours in education, training, and process refinement to gain a true, end-to-end understanding of the exchange process. This allows us to bring clarity, confidence, and competitive value to every exchange we facilitate.

Our edge is not speed alone, it’s perspective. We understand the accounting implications, the operational realities, and the investor mindset. That balance allows us to guide clients through exchanges with intention, foresight, and precision.

Our mission? to maximize tax deferral for individuals and entities, enabling capital to work harder, grow longer, and ultimately support stronger legacies. Whether that legacy is passed on to family, reinvested into a business, or used to build future opportunities, we believe preserved capital creates momentum. A properly structured 1031 exchange can play a vital role in shaping the future of your personal wealth or business growth. These exchanges are one of the most powerful resources available under federal tax law, and when used correctly, they can transform how assets compound over time.

Qualified Intermediary, Co-founder & Partner

Adam Cox

Adam Cox is a seasoned accounting professional and trusted advisor with decades of experience working across a wide range of financial environments—from large organizations with complex reporting structures to small, closely held businesses that require hands-on guidance and practical solutions.

His accounting background spans tax accounting, payroll, nonprofit accounting, fixed assets, and cost accounting, giving him a deep, operational understanding of how financial decisions affect both day-to-day operations and long-term outcomes. This broad foundation allows Adam to see beyond individual transactions and focus on the bigger financial picture for each client.

That experience naturally evolved into his role as a Qualified Intermediary for Section 1031 exchanges. Adam’s work in this area is a specialized extension of his accounting career, grounded in precision, compliance, and a clear understanding of the nuances involved in complex real estate and investment transactions. He works closely with investors navigating 1031 exchanges, as well as individuals who have come into significant net worth—often through inheritance—and need steady, informed guidance during important financial transitions.

Having worked with clients in both rural communities and metropolitan markets across the country, Adam brings a balanced perspective that respects local realities while maintaining a high standard of professionalism. Based in the Southeast, he serves clients nationwide who value clear communication, thoughtful planning, and a relationship-driven approach. At the core of Adam’s practice are integrity, trust, and long-term relationships. He believes the best outcomes come from understanding each client’s goals, explaining options clearly, and providing advice that stands up over time—not just in the moment.

Clients are invited to schedule a consultation to discuss their needs and explore how Adam can help navigate their financial and transactional decisions with clarity and confidence.

Co-Founder & Partner

Chevan Brewster

Chevan Brewster is the real estate and construction partner at NextPhase 1031 Exchange, LLC, bringing a disciplined, long-term perspective shaped by hands-on experience across real estate ownership, construction, farming, and development.

Raised around construction and real estate from an early age, Chevan developed a deep respect for capital, hard work, and the responsibility that comes with building and preserving assets. Mentored by his grandfather, who spent over six decades in construction and real estate development, Chevan learned early that successful projects and investments are the result of careful planning, conservative decision-making, and consistent execution.

Throughout his career, Chevan has been directly involved in complex real estate transactions and construction projects, giving him a practical understanding of how assets perform over time, how projects unfold in real-world conditions, and how tax decisions influence long-term outcomes. This operational experience allows him to view 1031 exchanges not as isolated transactions, but as strategic tools within a broader investment lifecycle. Chevan’s financial philosophy is rooted in stewardship. He believes that preserving capital is foundational to growth, and that disciplined tax deferral strategies can significantly expand an investor’s ability to compound wealth over time. Rising costs and market volatility have only reinforced the importance of thoughtful planning and efficient use of available tools under the tax code.

The decision to co-found NextPhase 1031 Exchange was driven by a shared vision: to elevate the exchange process from a compliance exercise to a strategic partnership. Chevan and his partner recognized that many investors understand what a 1031 exchange is, but not how it can be intentionally structured to support long-term objectives, legacy planning, and reinvestment strategies.

At NextPhase 1031 Exchange, Chevan provides the asset-side perspective, bridging real estate operations, construction realities, and investor decision-making. His role is to help clients navigate exchanges with clarity, foresight, and confidence, ensuring each exchange aligns with both immediate goals and long-term vision.

Chevan is also a dedicated family man and believes strongly in shared success. While achievement often comes through individual discipline, he believes the greatest value is created when knowledge, opportunity, and growth are extended to others. His work is guided by a commitment to help clients move forward deliberately, protect what they’ve built, and enter the next phase of their investment journey with purpose.
